Romance is synonymous with racing hearts, butterflies – and fluttering lashes. Enhance the latter even further with some dramatic eye makeup.
Whether you choose to have a neutral eye or a smokey eye, long and beautiful lashes will complete the look. You can achieve full and luscious lashes in a variety of ways depending on your budget and personal preferences.

Mascara
Finding the right mascara is key to gaining great lashes through makeup alone. Brides should try a few different formulas to find the right fit.
Always curl your lashes first, then apply the mascara as close to the lash line as possible, pulling away from your eyes in a small zig-zag motion to separate the lashes. Allow to dry for 30 seconds before applying a second coat.
If your lashes are looking clumpy following application, use a lash brush the same way as the application brush to separate the lashes.
Strip falsies
One of the easiest ways to achieve fuller looking lashes if by using a strip of false lashes. Strip lashes can be applied at home and come in a range of different designs. From long and natural to thick and full, and even jewelled - there is sure to be an option to suit anyone’s style.
Strip lashes are applied with makeup glue, so be sure to spot test the glue on your skin before applying to avoid any reactions. Strip lashes can be easily removed at the end of the night and if treated carefully, can be used again.
Individual falsies
Individual false lashes are similar to strip lashes; because they are applied with makeup glue, are temporary and can be applied at home.
The lashes come in a set with each piece containing a small cluster of individual lashes. Glue is applied to each piece, which is then fixed to the lash line using tweezers. They can be applied all the way along the lash line, or just in the outer corners to create a dramatic cat eye effect.
If treated with care, individual lashes can also be reused.

Extensions
Eyelash extensions are a semi-permanent way to achieve long and feathered lashes. Depending on care, the lashes can last anywhere from two weeks to one month before needing a maintenance refill.
Care should be taken to pat lashes dry, brush them appropriately and remove surrounding makeup carefully.
Prices vary, but you can expect to pay about where from about $150 for your first lash visit. Your first visit can take up to an hour, with the lashes looking great straight away. Refills cost between $40 to $70, and take about half an hour or so to achieve.
Ask your beautician to do an adhesive spot test on your skin before the application to test for any allergies.
