A fleeting vision can be inspiration enough to plan a whole wedding. For me, it was the classic colour combination of white and red.
In the wedding of Natasha and Big on television series Sex and the City, the bridal bouquet featured white calla lilies tied with a red ribbon. This classy floral arrangement has always remained in my heart since watching episode 18 of season 2 many years ago.
Carrie and Charlotte were reading through a news article about the wedding, when they came to the part about the bouquet. While it was only a description, there was no visual depiction; it was enough to inspire me.
When it came to planning my own wedding I decided that – as I knew my own style to a T – I would not think too hard about any decisions. With little thought or research I decided on a bouquet of red roses, with stems wrapped in white ribbon.
From this one little decision a whole wedding plan was initiated; with all the other colours having to compliment the colour-scheme, and not clash with or steal the attention from it.
The focus had to be on the beautiful white dress, with the red roses held against it. A vision I have held in my heart for years.
